It is my pleasure to submit to you the Annual Report of the Department of Jobs and Small Business for the year ended 30 June 2018.
This report has been prepared in accordance with section 46 of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act). This requires me as the accountable authority to prepare an annual report on the entity’s activities over the reporting period for you to present to Parliament.
In addition, as the accountable authority, I am confident the department’s audited financial statements included in this report satisfy the requirements of Section 42 of the PGPA Act. The annual performance statement in Part 2 of this report is prepared in accordance with section 39 of the PGPA Act and accurately presents the department’s performance for the 2017–18 financial year.
As required by section 10 of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Rule 2014, I certify that the department has:
- prepared fraud risk assessments and a fraud control plan
- appropriate fraud prevention, detection, investigation and reporting mechanisms that meet its specific needs, and
- taken all reasonable measures to appropriately deal with fraud relating to the department.
This report presents the results of the 2017–18 financial year and does not reflect the Administrative Arrangements announced on 28 August 2018. These changes will be discussed in the department's 2018–19 Annual Report.
