Employment Services Assessments

Job seekers with disability, injury, illness or other disadvantage may receive an assessment through the Australian Government to help find the most appropriate employment service assistance for them.

These are called Employment Services Assessments.

Employment Services Assessments:

  • consider barriers to finding and keeping a job from disability, injury, illness, or other disadvantage
  • identify interventions to assist in overcoming those barriers
  • consider capacity to work.

Employment Services Assessments may also be used by Services Australia to make decisions on income support payment qualification and activity test or participation requirements.

Job seekers may be referred for an Employment Services Assessment by Services Australia, or by an employment services provider.

Assessments are completed through face-to-face interviews (video and phone assessments can be arranged) by qualified health and allied health professionals.
