Entrepreneurship Facilitators

For: 

Entrepreneurship Facilitators work in three areas of high youth unemployment to provide practical assistance and support to encourage young people to start a business as a way to create their own job.

Entrepreneurship Facilitators will promote entrepreneurship and self-employment among young people, they will encourage young people to develop new business ideas, assist potential young entrepreneurs in accessing assistance to support and establish their own business, and provide linkages into existing programs, including New Enterprise Incentive Scheme (NEIS).

The Entrepreneurship Facilitators work in Cairns (Queensland), the Hunter including Newcastle (NSW), and Launceston and North-East Tasmania. The locations have high youth unemployment and lower than average business activity including, new businesses opening.

What services do Entrepreneurship Facilitators provide?

The Entrepreneurship Facilitators provide a range of services, including, but not limited to:

  • Providing individualised and tailored information and advice to clients about business start-up, including:
    • facilitating interactive engagements to provide information and advice addressing clients individual needs about starting and running their own business
    • providing ongoing mentoring assistance and advice, directly or through a mentor network, and
    • referring clients to appropriate services where it would be beneficial to starting their business.
  • Marketing and providing information and advice about entrepreneurship and starting a business in their region.

Who can access services?

While Entrepreneurship Facilitators will target their services to young people aged 18-24, people of all ages and backgrounds wanting to start their own business can access their services.

Talitha "Taz" believes in community development through the sharing of ideas, transfer of knowledge and relationship-driven collaboration. Born in Launceston, she is an experienced facilitator with a passion for helping people achieve their best and has worked with nearly 5000 young Australians. Taz has a diverse background in multiple leadership roles with The Van Diemen Project, and has supported numerous exciting Tasmanian start-ups over the last year.
