What services do Entrepreneurship Facilitators provide?

Entrepreneurship Facilitators provide a range of no-cost services, including, but not limited to:

  • Promoting and encouraging entrepreneurship among all individuals by providing information and advice about entrepreneurship and starting and running a business to clients, community organisations and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Providing tailored mentoring and assistance to individuals. This includes facilitating interactive engagements to provide information and advice (such as workshops and networking events) and providing mentoring assistance and advice.
  • Linking and referring individuals to appropriate services that will help them start and run their own business, including New Business Assistance with NEIS.

The Facilitator will also develop and maintain productive working relationships with key stakeholders in their location.

The Facilitators have a focus on encouraging entrepreneurship among:

  • mature age Australians, including those at risk of unemployment due to structural changes in the economy in 20 locations across Australia
  • young people in Cairns, the Hunter Valley (including Newcastle), and Launceston and North-East Tasmania.

Biography:

Chris considers himself one of Australia's most experienced and trusted business specialists with a strong international trade and business development background.

Chris has advanced senior executive expertise in strategy formulation, business transformation, business development, strategic marketing, communications and sales in a diverse range of industries across multiple geographies and cultures. Biography:

Liz has been described as the “go to” for all things marketing, websites and strategy for small businesses. Before becoming a Facilitator Liz was running her own business and website consultancy, as well as training and mentoring around 20 new business owners a week through New Business Assistance with NEIS and running training sessions for the Small Business Development Corporation.

Liz Haselgrove began studying Business and Strategy at the age of 16 and completed a National Diploma in Business before getting her BA(Hons) Degree in Business in the UK.

After working in the corporate world for nearly 10 years (such as the trading floor at National Australia Bank, for the Head of International Sales at Burberry and in product development at Google), in 2005 she began helping smaller enterprises to thrive. Biography:

Scott's initial career spanned over 25 years in Banking and Finance. In recent times he was employed as the Business Manager for a successful Hobart retailer -where his major focus was on optimising business growth and profitability through identifying new ways of doing business, new service offerings and new market opportunities. He was then recruited by his local Business Enterprise Centre in Southern Tasmania, in 2010.

Having owned two prior businesses himself – one a start-up, the other being a purchase of a going concern, has given Scott greater understanding and empathy with small business owners. Giving business guidance and support to existing business owners and those people contemplating starting a business is something Scott is well versed in.

Biography:

Daniela is a business management professional with over 10 years of experience in developing and owning/managing hospitality businesses in Hobart. She has also translated her business background, formal business qualifications and experience into the Tasmanian small business advisory and training environment. As a small business consultant, she has assisted many clients in establishing, maintaining and improving small/micro-businesses, whilst also coordinating a state government funded business mentor program. Daniela can complement these skills with her further experience as an employment program coordinator and trainer, as well as a sessional VET teacher in Hobart. In her various roles Daniela developed experience in delivering workshops and information sessions on small business management topics to a variety of stakeholders.
