The office of the Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman (ASBFEO) can provide free support on the Franchising Code of Conduct, options to resolve a dispute and access to mediation services.
The ASBFEO office administratively supports the Franchising Mediation Adviser who can appoint a mediator in instances where parties cannot agree on an appropriate mediator. The Adviser is a senior officer of the Department of Employment, Skills, Small and Family Business. The ASBFEO office can refer parties to the Franchising Mediation Adviser if required.
