The Franchising Mediation Adviser


The Franchising Code of Conduct describes the behaviours expected of franchisees and franchisors and includes a process for managing disputes.

The office of the Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman (ASBFEO) can provide free support on the Franchising Code of Conduct, options to resolve a dispute and access to mediation services.

The ASBFEO office administratively supports the Franchising Mediation Adviser who can appoint a mediator in instances where parties cannot agree on an appropriate mediator. The Adviser is a senior officer of the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources.
