I want to hire an apprentice

If you’re looking for workers who are keen to learn or who want to gain experience in your industry, taking on an apprentice or trainee could be a great way to gain a skilled employee who knows your business and how it runs.

Find an apprentice through Australian Apprenticeships

There are government incentives of up to $20,500 to help you hire an eligible apprentice or trainee

The Australian Government is funding opportunities for up to 300,000 apprenticeships and traineeships, to ensure workers have the right skills for the workforce.

Employing an Australian apprentice is a smart investment in the future of your business. Investing in training through an Australian Apprenticeship can provide your business with real benefits and contribute to your bottom line.

Australian Apprenticeships can offer eligible employers financial incentives up to $10,500 (GST inclusive) to help you when you take on an apprentice, particularly if the apprenticeship is in a trade experiencing a skill shortage.

Australian Apprenticeship incentives are subject to eligibility criteria, waiting periods and time limits. To find out more about incentives contact your local Apprenticeship Network provider.

If you start your search for an apprentice through a jobactive provider, you may also receive an additional wage subsidy up to $10,000 (GST inclusive) for an eligible apprentice. Your local jobactive provider can give you additional information.

From 1 January 2019, there will be additional wage subsidies available to small businesses who take on full-time apprentices in regional areas. Find out more about these additional wage subsidies..
