New grassroots services to help young Australians into work announced

For:

The Government has announced 21 organisations were successful in their applications to deliver the second round of Empowering YOUth Initiatives.

The Empowering YOUth Initiatives seek to help young Australians improve their skills, address personal barriers and move toward sustainable employment.

The 21 successful organisations have been offered the opportunity to join the 19 organisations from Round 1 in delivering grassroots services and new approaches to help young people on their pathways to employment.

Applicants in Round 2 were able to apply for grant funding of up to $5 million to deliver initiatives over two years to young people aged 15 to 24. Each of the successful organisations was selected for their experience and innovative approach.

A key part of Empowering YOUth Initiatives is the evaluation findings. The Department of Employment will partner with successful organisations to support the evaluation of each initiative, which will inform new policies and programs targeted at young people.

The list of organisations offered to deliver the second round of Empowering YOUth Initiatives is available in the Minister for Employment’s media release.
