Apply now for the 2020 Australian Training Awards! Applications close 31 May 2020.

The Australian Training Awards (Awards), hosted this year by National Careers Ambassador Scott Cam, are the peak national awards for the vocational education and training (VET) sector. The Awards recognise and celebrate excellence and are an important mechanism for promoting the benefits of vocational education and training.

Applications for the following two categories are now open:

  • Lifetime Achievement Award
  • National Achievement Award.

The Lifetime Achievement Award was introduced in 2011 and is the most prestigious award category presented to an individual who has made a fundamental and lasting contribution to the VET sector over a period of 25 years or more.

The National Achievement Award is presented in recognition of an individual's outstanding leadership and contribution at a national level to the Australian VET sector for up to 25 years.

Recipients of these awards will be invited to attend the 2020 Australian Training Awards ceremony on 20 November in Melbourne and are also invited to become ambassadors for the national VET sector as a member of the exclusive Australian VET Alumni. The Alumni is a national community of VET graduates, registered training organisations, VET practitioners and businesses dedicated to sharing their VET journey with Australians to encourage greater participation and best practice in VET.

As National Careers Ambassador, Mr Scott Cam will champion the work of the National Careers Institute and promote a consistent, national message around careers development.
