Skilled Migration Occupation Lists Consultation

The Department of Employment is undertaking consultation to gather data and information to inform the six monthly review of the Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL) and Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).

Submissions on methodology underpinning the review

The Department of Employment is seeking feedback on its draft methodology and the data sources used to underpin its review of the STSOL and MLTSSL. The draft methodology is now available.

The Department is inviting submissions that address the following matters:

  1. The Department has included a range of national labour market data sets in its methodology. Are there others that we should consider? Ideally these would be aligned to ANZSCO occupations and updated at least annually.
  2. The Department is also seeking submissions on suitable datasets that are disaggregated by region. Please provide details if you are aware of such a dataset, including whether it is aligned to ANZSCO occupations and how often the dataset is updated.
  3. Is there any other advice or evidence that the Department should consider in its review of the methodology? We are particularly looking for research, surveys or modelling that is Australian based, recent and aligned to ANZSCO occupations.

The submission period closes on 20 October 2017.
